CODE OF ETHICS

Preamble

Home stagers provide services to clients by staging homes for “living” and staging homes for “selling.”  Home staging includes proper design and positioning of furnishings and accessories throughout the home to showcase existing assets and features for maximum impact.  Home stagers do not require licensing.  Members of SNAPA pledge to adhere to the following ethics as a protection for all clients in order to uphold the highest possible standards of excellence.

I will conduct my professional activities with honesty, integrity, fairness and respect and will not initiate, engage in discussions or participate in an activity which may be harmful to the reputation or business relationship of other industry professionals.

My business reflects on the entire staging community so my business practice will always be conducted in such a manner as to protect and earn the respect of clients and other staging specialists, real estate practitioners and the general public.

I will actively participate in advancing the staging profession through

high quality work as well as continuing education and staying current with design trends and real estate  practices to increase my professionalism.

Prior to beginning a project, I will inform the client in writing of the scope of work to be done, pricing, time and accepted form of payment.  I will not charge additional fees unless requested, written and agreed to by the client.

I will only undertake tasks for which I am skilled and qualified.

I will respect the personal property and feelings of clients and will be objective and sensitive with their possessions and lifestyle.

I will not divulge confidential information about my client, the client’s property or release photographs without prior written consent of the client.

I will not use names of clients to create electronic or print mailing lists without written permission of the client.

I will not engage in any form of false or misleading promotional advertising activities.  I will not plagiarize or take credit for work or photos that are not my own.

I will not guarantee specific outcomes resulting directly or indirectly from services performed.
